Nine-year-old Loretta is in first grade and wants to be a police officer one day. She lives with her subsistence farming parents and enjoys playing with dolls with her friends. Loretta’s parents’ household includes 20 extended and immediate family members; Loretta is the youngest of her siblings. After school she helps her mom with household and farming chores.
