January 2024: Forty-two-year-old Kou and her husband provide for their family of four through subsistence farming.  Kou’s husband injured his back last year and cannot assist with the activities of this farming season.  Without help, Kou family is in jeopardy of not making a farm; thereby not able to feed the family and having money left over for household expenses.  Kou requested (and was granted) a farming supplies package to get more tools so her older children can assist with the farming activities.
