Jesica has been promoted to Kindergarten-2 and continues to live with her mother. She still dreams of becoming a president one day. Jesica said her favorite thing about school is playing with her friends. Her favorite food is rice with Liberian palm butter soup “with plenty of meat”. In Liberian culture, having plenty of meat in a dish is considered a delicacy, often reserved for adults, while children usually receive fewer pieces. Eight-year-old Jesica is in pre-kindergarten class and lives with her mother.  Her father abandoned the home a few years ago leaving her mother with five children to raise.  Jesica dreams of one day becoming the president of Liberia.  She enjoys helping her mom with household chores and washing dishes.  She is thankful for the gift of a scholarship.
