Janet was promoted to the second grade this year. Last year, she wasn’t able to attend school because she was placed with a different family. However, she has now returned to her original family and is back in school. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend the school distribution this year because she was in the process of transitioning to her new home, so we didn’t have a picture of her. Despite this, her principal is thrilled to have Janet back at school, as she is known to be a great student. Her return has been welcomed with excitement, and her teachers are looking forward to seeing her continue to thrive in her studies. Sponsored by: Peggy & John Sundquist

Eleven-year-old Janet dreams of one day becoming president of Liberia! Janet said she “wants to build Liberia”. Janet lives in Suakazue, Liberia. Janet’s parents are subsistence farmers, barely earning enough to keep their family fed but filled with hope and encouragement for the welfare of their four children. An opportunity for the optimistic and smart Janet to go to school is an answer to prayers. Entering grade one at eleven years of age can be daunting for many children who feel they are too old to give education a chance. However, Janet embraces the opportunity and is thankful to GPA sponsors for the gift of a education. Sponsored by: Donations from General Funds
