January 2024: Ekie is a forty-year-old widow striving to provide for her four children.  When her husband passed away, Ekie and her children went to live with her extended family with the hope of getting some support.  The extended family notion is collective income is better than one income in caring for the total family.  Unfortunately for Ekie, her two older sisters died leaving her even more vulnerable.  Ekie was given a farming supplies package to expand her farming activities.
