BETTY:E1033-MAO

November 2025:  Betty is a 57-year-old mother and grandmother who has dedicated her life to caring for her family. She is raising a total of five children, mostly grandchildren, who were left in her care when her daughter went away to seek opportunities and has not returned in several years. Betty has experience in farming, but after years without the proper tools and equipment, she had been unable to work the land she still owns. Farming alone is a huge task, and the hard labor can be overwhelming without support. Through Grow Power Africa, Betty has received the farming materials she needs and has been paired with a team of women. Together, they share the labor, work the land collectively, sell the produce, and provide for their families. Betty has never been to school, and she dreams of better opportunities for her grandchildren. She hopes that by giving them the chance to go to school, they will be able to care for her in her old age while building bright futures for themselves. Betty is deeply grateful for this opportunity and excited about the hope it brings for her family. Thanks to Grow Power Africa and our supporters, women like Betty can rebuild their livelihoods, care for their families, and create brighter futures for the next generation.
