Angeline is 10 years old and in the second grade. She dreams of becoming a soldier one day. Angeline lives with her stepfather, as her mother abandoned her when she moved out. Her stepfather has seven children of his own, and the family struggles to make ends meet. Due to financial difficulties, her stepfather has been unable to send Angeline to school on a regular basis.
