ANGEL: S1102-DUA
November
2024
Angel is an 8-year-old first grader with big dreams of becoming a nurse when she grows up. She lives with her mother, who works tirelessly as a small fish seller in the Girl Power Africa market. Despite her efforts, Angel’s mother earns only about a dollar in profit each day, which must support her and her three children. This limited income makes it difficult for her to send all her children to school consistently. Even with these challenges, Angel is a determined and serious student. She is also a great help to her mother, often assisting her in the market after school. Angel’s dedication to her education and her willingness to support her family highlight her strength and resilience. With the right opportunities and support, Angel has the potential to make her dream of becoming a nurse a reality. Sponsored by: Ann Dencker & Gary Peroutka
