Alberta has been promoted to the second grade this year, and she’s continuing to show how determined and hardworking she is. She still dreams of owning her own tailor shop one day, and this ambition drives her to give her best in everything she does. Alberta’s love for spelling stands out—she says it’s her favorite subject, and according to her teacher, she’s always the best speller in the class. Whenever there’s a spelling bee, Alberta is the one to win, showcasing her dedication to mastering new words. Her teacher speaks highly of her, noting that Alberta is not only hardworking but also a role model for her classmates. She continues to excel in school, and it’s clear that her hard work and passion for learning will take her far. Nine-year-old Alberta lives in Sopea, Liberia with her subsistence farming parents and four siblings.  Subsistence farming has been a generational, poverty driven vocation for families like Alberta’s whose parents have no formal education.  Their prayer is that with this scholarship support, Alberta will be the first in their family to break the generational cycle of poverty.  Alberta wants to be a seamstress when she grows up.  With the eyes of faith, perhaps Alberta will establish and own a chain of tailor shops.  Alberta is in kindergarten-2, and she loves helping her mother with household chores.
