TATU: E381-DUA

June 2022:  35-year-old Tatu was living with her husband and three children in Duazon (a community located in Monrovia), Liberia when her husband suddenly died from a motorbike injury.  Monrovia’s limited and narrow road network is overrun by motorbikes as a fast, affordable public transport option. Motorbike drivers or operators are mostly unskilled drivers pushed by the goal of earning their daily quota while observing no traffic rules. Motorbike accidents are constant and
regrettably, like Tatu’s husband, oftentimes fatal.  Tatu benefitted from a Business Empowerment Package and was able to establish a small business selling consumable commodities on her porch.  A donation from Girl Power Africa’s General Funds has given Tatu and her children a hand up.
