November 2025:  Rita is a 41-year-old widow and divorced mother of two, whose journey has been one of resilience and hope. Rita and her husband once thrived in farming, building a stable life together. However, everything changed when he left her for another woman, leaving Rita heartbroken and unsure of where to turn. In her time of need, Rita found support through Girl Power Africa. With the assistance provided, she received the farming tools necessary to get back on her feet. More importantly, Rita was placed in a team of dedicated women, working together to cultivate the land and share the labor. Today, Rita is not only able to put food on the table for her children but also to envision a brighter future for them. With the proceeds from her farming, she hopes to provide her children with the education they deserve, opening doors to opportunities she never had. Rita’s story is a testament to the power of community, resilience, and the transformative support of Girl Power Africa. She is deeply grateful for the empowerment and the opportunity to stand tall once more, providing for her children and building a hopeful future.
