November 2025:  Rebecca is a 40-year-old widow and a devoted mother of six. For many years, she and her husband supported their family by working on other people’s farms, doing whatever labor was available to provide food and meet basic needs. A few years ago, Rebecca lost her husband. Since his passing, life has been extremely difficult. Without farming materials of her own and without a group to work alongside, Rebecca shared that she had been unable to get back on her feet. When Rebecca came to Girl Power Africa, she was seeking more than tools—she was seeking a chance to begin again. Through Girl Power Africa, Rebecca received farming materials and was also assigned to a farming team. Together with other women, she is now working the land, farming collectively, and selling their produce as a group to support their families. Rebecca is deeply grateful—not only for the farming materials she received, but also for the opportunity to work in a team setting where women support one another and share the workload and the harvest. When asked about her motivation, Rebecca answered simply and from the heart: “My children.” Everything she does is for them.
