PATIENCE:E1020-FLO

November 2025:  Patience is a 20-year-old young woman whose resilience and determination shine through even in the face of great responsibility. She is a mother of one child and also the primary caregiver for her own mother, placing her in the role of provider for two generations. For several years, Patience supported her family through farming. Working the land was not only her livelihood but her main source of survival. She farmed cassava using basic tools such as a cutlass, boots, and simple farming equipment. Over time, these tools became old and destroyed. Without the means to replace them, Patience has been unable to farm for the past two years, leaving her without a stable source of income. With a strong desire to care for her child and her mother, Patience came to Girl Power Africa seeking assistance. She shared that with empowerment support, she will be able to return to farming, produce cassava, and sell her harvest. This will allow her to support her family and begin sending her child to school—something she deeply values, even though she herself has never had the opportunity to attend school. When asked about her motivation, Patience expressed how meaningful it is to work in a group and team setting with Girl Power Africa. She is inspired by the encouragement, collaboration, and sense of community she has found through the organization. Patience is truly grateful for the opportunity Girl Power Africa has given her to rebuild her livelihood and create a better future for her family. At Girl Power Africa, we believe that empowering women like Patience not only restores livelihoods but strengthens families and communities for generations to come. Patience’s journey forward is filled with hope—and we are honored to walk alongside her.
