MARTHA:E1022-FLO

November 2025: Martha is a 52-year-old mother of six whose life reflects perseverance, love for family, and quiet strength. She is a widow who once worked side by side with her husband as a rice farmer, building a livelihood rooted in hard work and shared dreams. Several years ago, Martha lost her husband. Since his passing, she has faced significant challenges trying to make ends meet on her own. Without the tools and resources needed to farm—such as machetes, hooks, boots, and basic farming materials—continuing the work she and her husband started became nearly impossible. Martha came to Grow Power Africa seeking support so she could begin farming again independently. With the proper tools and guidance, she hopes to return to rice farming and once again provide for her children through honest, sustainable work. When asked about her motivation, Martha spoke simply and from the heart. Her children are her driving force, and she is determined to pick up where she and her husband left off—to continue the life they worked so hard to build before his passing. Martha is also looking forward to becoming part of a Grow Power Africa farming group, where women work together to cultivate larger farms, share responsibilities, and sell their produce collectively. To her, this sense of community, teamwork, and shared purpose brings renewed hope. Martha is deeply grateful for the opportunity to be part of Grow Power Africa and its supportive community. Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters who are making stories like Martha’s possible.
