November 2025:  Mamie is a 43-year-old widow and devoted mother of five children. For many years, Mamie and her late husband worked together on a large farm, nurturing the land and providing for their family. However, after her husband’s passing, life became significantly more challenging. Without the necessary farming tools and the support of a partner, Mamie struggled to maintain the farm and provide for her children. In her search for assistance, Mamie turned to Girl Power Africa. With the support of the organization, she received the essential farming materials she needed and was also placed in a team of women. Together, they work the land, share the labor, and collectively sell their produce, making the workload lighter and more manageable. Mamie is deeply grateful for this empowerment. With the renewed opportunity to farm, she can once again provide for her children and work toward sending them to school—fulfilling a dream she holds close to her heart.
