LORILEE: E442-SAN

JUNE 2022:  Lorilee is a 38-year-old woman living with her husband, five
children and three extended family members in Sanniquellie, Nimba County.  Her
husband was working as a security guard but was laid off because the company
went bankrupt.  Lorilee helped to supplement her husband’s modest income by
baking and selling bread in her community.  Shortly after he was laid off, Lorilee
got sick and all the funds in their savings went towards her medical bills.  Like
Lorilee’s household, more than 75% of Liberia’s households live a day-to-day
subsistence existence and something like a medical situation can wipe out their
savings (if there is any).  Now well, Lorilee sought out Girl Power to assist her
with a Baking Empowerment Package to re-start her bread market.  A donation
from the Girl Power Africa General Fund has given Lorilee and her family a hand
up.
