November 2025:  Hellen is a 34-year-old single mother of three who came to Girl Power Africa with a clear dream and a determined heart. In the past, Hellen earned a living by buying produce from other farms and reselling it. While this helped her survive, she always hoped to do more. Her true desire was to have her own farm—one she could build and grow through her own hard work. Hellen was fortunate to inherit a piece of land, but without the money to purchase farming equipment, her dream remained out of reach. Through the support of Girl Power Africa, Hellen has now received the farming materials she needs to begin working her land. This opportunity allows her to move from simply selling produce to becoming a farmer herself, creating a more stable and sustainable livelihood for her family. When asked about her motivation, Hellen answered honestly and powerfully: “I have never been to school, and I don’t want my children to turn out like me.” Her greatest goal is to educate her children and give them opportunities she never had. Hellen is deeply grateful for the support she has received and is committed to using her farm to generate income and begin sending her children to school.
