HELENA:E1068-BOA

November 2025:  Helena is a 26-year-old widow and mother of two children. She and her husband had only recently begun their life together when tragedy struck. Her husband fell ill with malaria and passed away suddenly in his sleep, leaving Helena to face life and motherhood on her own. Since that moment, Helena shared that life has been extremely difficult. With limited resources and no steady means of income, providing for her children became a daily struggle. She came to Girl Power Africa seeking help and was empowered with farming tools and materials, as well as placed in a supportive team of women who work together, encourage one another, and farm collectively. Helena shared that she had to drop out of school in the third grade because her family could not afford to keep her in school. Today, her greatest hope is to ensure that her children have the opportunity to receive an education she never had. Helena is deeply grateful for the empowerment she has received and for the chance to work alongside other women as they build a better future for their families together. She thanks Girl Power Africa and all the supporters who made this opportunity possible.  To sponsor a woman in need with a one-time $100 tax-deductible gift, please visit: www.girlpowerafrica.org/donate
