November 2025:  Florence is a 45-year-old mother of seven children. Three are her biological children, and five are her stepchildren from her late husband. After the passing of her husband, Florence described life simply as “hard work.” Caring for seven children on her own has been overwhelming, and making ends meet has been a daily struggle. Florence and her husband had been farmers, and farming is all she knows. After his death, she came to Girl Power Africa seeking help to return to farming and to be connected with other women so she would not have to do the hard labor alone. Through Girl Power Africa, Florence has been empowered with farming tools and placed in a team of women who will work together, share the labor, and farm collectively to support their families. Florence has never had the opportunity to go to school, but she is determined to do everything she can to provide for her children and create stability for them. She is extremely thankful for this opportunity and expresses deep gratitude for the “hand up” she has been given through Girl Power Africa.
