HENRY: S472-LUG

September 2021:  Thanks to the generous donation from Lori Fischer Hall, Henry has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. He received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year.  Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Henry was kept in his current grade level of 2nd grade for the upcoming school year. He continues to live with his grandmother and still wants to be a doctor when he grows up.  Please note: The town was practically deserted due to the outbreak of the Marburg Virus in the neighboring Guinea. Therefore, majority of the students from this town were not present to receive their school materials. Their school materials were left with the school authority to be given to our students upon their arrival.

September 2020: Thanks to the generous donation from Lori Fischer Hall, Henry has been re-enrolled into school for the 2020/2021 school year. Henry became very sick and his grandmother took him to the sick bush so he was not present during registration. His materials were left with administration to be given upon his return. He is in the 2nd grade this year and still wants to be a doctor when he grows up. He continues to live with his grandmother.

2019:  Meet Henry, who has been generously sponsored by Frederick & Bulleh Norkeh. He is 8 years old and is in the 1st grade this year. Henry lives in Lugbeyee, Liberia with his unemployed grandmother.  Henry’s father disowned the pregnancy and shortly after his birth and he was given to his grandmother because his mother was too young and could not afford to raise a child.  He hopes to be a doctor when he grows up.
