September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Bernadette Maurice, Serena has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to the 1st grade this year and still wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She continues to live with her sister.
September 2020: Meet Serena, who has been generously sponsored by Bernadette Maurice. She is 10 years old and is in the K-2 grade this year. She lives in Zolowee, Liberia with her older sister. Serena’s father who was her only caregiver was killed 2 years ago when a tree that he was cutting fell on him and killed him instantly. Her interests are learning and she hopes to be a teacher when she grows up.
