January 2024: Forty-one-year-old Victoria is a widow striving to provide for her family through subsistence farming.  Her husband died as he was burning a portion of his farm to clear the grass for planting.  Unfortunately, he was unable to escape the fire.  Subsistence farming is a tedious, laborious and risky venture.  Virgin land is rife with shrubs and tree stumps, fallen trees …. all riddled over uneven terrain.  Victoria must make a farm to feed her family.  She is committed to sending all her children to school with the hope that one day her children will escape the cycle of generational poverty.  Strength and resilience define the Victorias of Liberia.  She was awarded a farming supplies package to expand her farming enterprise.
