NOHN: E263-SAN

RECIPIENT: Nohn – Age 25

EMPOWERED BY: Pam Fischer

Meet Nohn who has been generously empowered by Pam Fischer. She is a 25-year-old widow with 2 children and has never been to school.  Nohn and her husband used to cut down trees to make wood for sale. Her husband was killed 5 months ago when a tree that he had cut fell on him and killed him. She alone has been struggling to make ends meet. Nohn told our Girl Power Africa team: “Life has been hell since my husband died. People don’t understand when you lose someone who was everything to you. The children and I are suffering. We can go to the restaurant and ask for the left-over food that people leave on their plates so we can eat it. My husband was a proud man. He will feel bad when he knows that I am asking for help. But I have to ask for help to live”.  Thank you, Pam, for giving Nohn a hand-up. She said the reason that she had chosen GB is to make sure she and her children eat first thing in the morning before going to sell. (Please note: The ingredients for the GB are not in the photos because due to the weight, they were delivered to her house by her GPA team leader.)
